As a local partner of the United Way for Southeastern Michigan 2-1-1 helpline, Handyman Connection is fulfilling an important part of our program’s efforts to help families keep their homes safe. Joe Cox, owner of Handyman Connection of Ann Arbor, has been working with 2-1-1 since 2019, donating home improvement labor and materials to assist several local residents.
“My team here at Handyman Connection believes in the power of community and in helping each other whenever we can with the resources we have at our disposal,” said Cox. “In our case, we are happy to provide home repair service to area families in need through this terrific program with United Way. By donating our labor and materials to help families in crisis, we can give a helping hand to our neighbors and ensure they are safer and more comfortable in their homes.”
The Handyman Connection of Ann Arbor team recently completed a project for a resident in Whitmore Lake, repairing rotted boards on the front porch and upgrading fixtures. Another project totaled nearly $1,000 and included storm door replacement, drywall repair and several updates to safety features around the home, such as grab bars and hand rails.
We are thrilled to have a partner like Handyman Connection to turn to when families in our region need assistance to meet their basic needs. It’s local businesses like this that help us make an impact in our community and put families on a path to stability.
